What is visual communication? It is the the process of visually expressing data in order to generate meaning quickly and effectively. After reading through unit 1, I have learned that Visual correspondence partially or entire depends on vision, and vision bests any remaining faculties. In visual communication various hypotheses are managed such as sensual and perceptual theories. Sensual theories include gestalt, constructivism and ecological while perceptual theories include semiotics and cognitive theories. Perceptual meanings are those that are reached after the stimuli have been received. It is based on previous experiences, comparisons with other senses, and stored pictures, among other things. Therefore, It is important for us to understand that not only does visual communication include conversations in a non verbal manner, certain indicators may be used to deliver ones personal thoughts. We should be aware and perceptive of our surroundings and utilize everything we have in order to communicate with one another. So my question to you is, how is your visual communication?

This is especially true when I'm talking to someone face to face. Usually, I'd be more focused on what they were saying rather than how they looked, acted, etc. But I've also heard somewhere that the information we internalize when talking to someone is actually about 10% verbal and 90% nonverbal, which is quite surprising to me! So perhaps I'm more subconsciously taking in information nonverbally than I originally thought. There's also the phrase, "I'm more of a visual learner," which I completely agree with…
